Yoko McCarthy was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. After graduating from Kobe Jyogakuin College, Yoko went to Massachusetts College of Art to study photography in 1992 and Boston became her home since then.  During the next 10 years, she had a variety of experience from becoming a mother of two daughters to working as an accountant, legal translator, and a freelancer.

After working for the Massachusetts State Auditor’s Office for nine years, in 2012 she became a consultant specialized in government assurance to help government organizations improve accountability, transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness of their operations while maintaining compliance. She specializes in auditing and consulting U.S. state and local government agencies in various areas including program integrity, internal controls, financial compliance, fraud risk assessment, forensic accounting, business process improvement, and project management. Yoko holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Massachusetts Boston with specialization in information system, finance, and supply chain management, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Information System Auditor, and Certified Government Financial Manager.
 

大阪出身。神戸女学院大学を卒業後、1992年にボストンに移住し、マサチューセッツ・カレッジ・オブ・アートでフォトグラフィーを学ぶ。その後二人の娘を育て、会計士、翻訳家、フリーランスの仕事などを経て、マサチューセッツ州監査役（State Auditor）のオフィスに約9年間勤務。2012年、公務員として得た知識を元に、米国州政府と地方自治体政府を対象とするコンサルタントに転職。現在は会計事務所兼コンサルティング会社にてガバメントコンサルティンググループでコンプライアンス・リスクマネージメントのユニットを運営する。監査やコンサルティングサービスを通じて、政府が公共プログラムを法律や規則に従って運営し、公共資金を無駄なく活用し、不正のリスクを最小限にとどめつつより能率的な運営をするためのソルーションやアドバイスを提供。過去8年間で18州にて州政府と地方自治体のクライアントに奉仕。マサチューセッツ大学ボストン校にて経営学修士号（MBA）を取得し、公認不正検査士、公認情報システム監査人、公認ガバメントファイナンシャルマネジャーの資格を保有。
